The 2017 EALAN AGM AND CONFERENCE
18th – 27th July 2017, Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS), Nairobi
Conference Theme: Promoting Land Administration and Governance for Sustainable Development in Eastern Africa
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Eastern African Land Administration Network (EALAN) Annual General shop Meeting and Conference for 2017, both organized by EALAN and the University of Nairobi, will take place between 18th and 27th July, 2017 at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi, Kenya.
Land administration arrangements and practices in any country influence the pace and outcomes of social and economic developments. Since the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), nations have been encouraged to take initiatives to attain the SDG targets. As a key factor in development therefore, land administration arrangements and governance practices contribute to the attainment of the SDG goals. EALAN was formed as a regional network to address effective land administration and governance for sustainable development. Furthermore, EALAN seeks to work with other partners in the region such as Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) and the Land Policy Initiative. Thus, the 2017 EALAN conference provides a forum in which participants will share experiences on how land administration arrangements and practices have contributed to attainment of the SDGs. The exchange of knowledge and experiences will also enhance the collaboration between professionals towards sustainable development of the region. The conference topics will include but not limited to the following:
- Land administration and governance
- Sustainable development
