Prof Tatien MASHARABU is elected by Annual General Meeting (AGM) members as the new chair of Eastern African Land Administration Network (EALAN) for the coming year 2019-2020. Prof Tatien MASHARABU is Director of Research at University of Burundi. AGM2019 and conferences are taking place in Zanzibar at Ngalawa Hotel from Monday 22^nd to Friday 27^th July 2019. The theme for this year is “Quest for Smart Solutions for Responsible Land Management and Land Administration in Eastern Africa” and the abstracts for papers are downloadable here.

During the same AGM, Jossam Potel lecturer and head of the Department of Land Administration and Management at INES-Ruhengeri was also elected as new Executive Secretary of EALAN for the three coming years 2019-2021.

The Meeting agreed on the next institution to host Annual General Meeting which is Technical university of Kenya.
